Gadfly ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and web application (collectively, the "App").
By using Gadfly, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, name (optional), and password when you create an account
- Task Data: Tasks, reminders, notes, and due dates you enter into the app
- Voice Data: When you use voice input, your speech is temporarily processed to convert to text. We do not store voice recordings.
- Preferences: Your app settings, energy check-ins, and customization choices
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: How you interact with the app (features used, task completion patterns)
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
- Log Data: Access times, pages viewed, app crashes, and other system activity
2.3 Information from Third Parties
- Calendar & Reminders: If you grant permission, we access your device's calendar and reminders to sync tasks
- Payment Information: Processed securely by Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's functionality
- Process your tasks, reminders, and voice commands
- Personalize your experience (energy-based task suggestions, momentum tracking)
- Send you notifications and reminders you've requested
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Improve the App based on usage patterns
- Communicate with you about updates, support, and promotional offers (with your consent)
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
4. Third-Party Services
Gadfly uses the following third-party services that may collect information:
- OpenAI: For AI-powered task parsing and recommendations. Your task text may be sent to OpenAI's API. OpenAI's privacy policy applies.
- ElevenLabs: For voice cloning and text-to-speech (optional feature). Voice recordings are processed according to ElevenLabs' privacy policy.
- Supabase: For secure data storage and authentication
- Stripe: For payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
- Apple: For App Store distribution and in-app purchases
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure session management with automatic timeouts
- Password hashing using industry-standard algorithms
- Row-level security ensuring you can only access your own data
- Regular security audits and updates
6. Data Retention
- Active Account: Your data is retained while your account is active
- Deleted Account: Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days
- Voice Data: Voice recordings are processed in real-time and not stored
- Backup Data: May be retained in encrypted backups for up to 90 days

You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data
- Deletion: Delete your account and associated data
- Export: Download your data in a portable format

8. Children's Privacy
Gadfly offers a "Kids Mode" designed for users under 18. For users under 13:
- We collect only information necessary to provide the service
- Parental consent is required for account creation

- Parents can request deletion of their child's data at any time
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for users in the United States.
9. International Users
If you are accessing Gadfly from the European Union, United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws:
- We process data based on your consent and legitimate interests
- You have additional rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to lodge complaints with supervisory authorities
- Data may be transferred to the United States where our servers are located
